About the event
Aperture Dance Ensemble proudly presents its debut performance: Field of Quiet.
Join us or this immersive evening of movement, creativity, and storytelling. Field of Quiet is an original mixed-repertoire dance showcase featuring a work performed by the Aperture Dance Ensemble.
Featuring multiple techniques, moods, and ideas—this piece has it's own voice while leading you through the experience.
Field of Quiet is an original dance work exploring the invisible things we carry with us—grief, self-doubt, hurt, memory, and the weight of the past.
Throughout the performance, a sweeping piece of fabric becomes a physical representation of that burden: delicate and nearly weightless in appearance, yet capable of surrounding, trapping, comforting, and consuming. As the dancers move from uniformity into individual moments of struggle and discovery, they are faced with the difficult question of whether to remain with what is familiar or find the strength to let it go.
